المجسمات أو الماكيتات Maquette هي معروضات مصغرة تحاكي واقع الأصل بكل تفاصيلة لكن بمقياس رسم أصغر لعرض صورة تخيلية لواقع التصميم المعماري architectural design
حيث يتم نقل إبداع المهندس أوالمصمم المعماري أو حتى الرسام لواقع ملموس كي يفهمه عامة الناس أو صاحب المشروع أو التصميم .
حيث يظهرالمجسم التفاصيل الدقيقة للتصميم لكن في صورة ثلاثية الأبعاد يمكن لمسها و عرضها بشكل أفضل وإكتشاف أي أخطاء تصميمية سواء كانت تصميمات داخلية interior design أو خارجية exterior design
حتى يمكن تعديلها قبل التنفيذ وإخراج التصميم علي أفضل صورة .
